The installation method determines whether a chemical DPC forms a continuous damp-proof course.
Product choice alone does not compensate for poor drilling, incorrect injection height, or incomplete coverage.
Bridging above or below this line will compromise performance.
Drilling must suit the wall type and construction.
Insert the nozzle into each hole and inject Silonexx at approximately 50 PSI. Maintain steady pump pressure and hold the nozzle in place until product begins to confirm at adjacent holes.
Do not move to the next hole until the current hole has accepted its full product volume. For standard brick, allow approximately 300mL per brick. For sandstone, calculate 12 litres per m² of DPC zone.
Treatment is not complete until product confirms at all adjacent holes. This confirmation is the Capillary Saturation Zone, the point at which the injection fluid has fully distributed through the masonry pore network at the DPC height.
A hole is closed only after CSZ confirmation. Gaps in CSZ coverage are gaps in the damp-proof course. The Silonexx warranty applies only to walls where CSZ has been correctly established across the full injection line.
Method adjustments are required for thick masonry, mixed or rubble-filled walls, sandstone and heritage stone construction, walls with high moisture or salt content, and extruded bricks.
Extruded bricks must not be drilled through the face — drill into the mortar joint immediately above the target row. Product distributes through the cores from above.

No single method suits all walls.
Following injection, allow the carrier solvent to evaporate before rendering. This typically takes five to seven days depending on ambient temperature, ventilation, and substrate moisture.
The silane chemistry activates on contact with residual moisture in the substrate and bonds permanently to the masonry mineral structure. Wall drying after treatment proceeds at approximately 25mm per month under normal Australian conditions.
These issues commonly lead to failure.
